How to make your own telescope, in 45,350 easy steps.

15 days ago by plutovian

In an effort to try to understand how this was actually done, I hunted down old reference guides that would make the process plain. These images are from 1001 Celestial Wonders, published in 1931. Fo ...

Weather in Kansas

Friday, October 8, 2004, 8:30am From my passing window the face of Lake Cochituate is even glassier than yesterday morning – a near-perfect mirror with nary a ripple of any kind. Also once again there are no clouds overhead – a day more like Flagstaff in northern Arizona than Natick in southern New ...

Phil Plait, Bad Astronomyand UFOs

132 days ago by Frank Warren

By Kevin RandleA Different Perspective7-28-09 Well, I see that good old Phil Plait of Bad Astronomy has struck again. I’m not sure why, if he is so convinced there is nothing to UFO reports, he feels the compulsion to return to the subject so often, but he does. And, surprising me if no one else, he ...

The elegant McMath-Pierce Solar ...
