At 8 p.m. on Sunday evening, the 9th February, a hay rick belonging to a farmer, a Mr. Cumberland of Shepshed, was found alight. The fire was put out by Cumberland's staff. Cumberland was a Special Constable. As reported in the Nottingham Review of 14th February 1812.
