Michael looms over Tasmania

14 hours ago by chris.dadness

Michael asked nicely if I would get the relief map of Tasmania down off the wall. He then played with it for about an hour. Note: even when it is face down he can name the lakes and islands by the inverted flat bits/bumps. Hey - do you like what I'm doing these days with the little writing?

Home Again

1 day ago by waltzingaustralia

Back from mom’s—and, after nearly three weeks away, I’m facing hundreds of emails and a bushel of snail mail. It’s a bit daunting and will take some time—so this first post will be a short one—just a note and a pretty picture. More will follow shortly. On the far side of Macquarie Harbour, mountains ...

1 day ago by Danielle

During the last decade endangered birds, like the forty-spotted pardalote and the swift parrot, have lost significant amounts of their populations. Well that's how everybody pronounces it in these parts! I left Devonport this morning and and on the way to Launceston I stopped off at: Latrobe – not much to see here. Lots of old buildings and the Australian Woodchopping Hall of Fame. Ashgrove Cheese – I tasted all of the cheeses. The one with was ...

Gluttony

2 days ago by Underachiever

Well inadvertently today has been about food! I blame it on the fact that I went for a swim this morning, which psychologically gave me the green light to eat as much as I wanted. Also on the news today was a piece about how the 2,500 calories per day guidance for men is out of date and how it shoul ...

Salamanca Market & other stuff...

2 days ago by Underachiever

First of all an admission – I'm writing this under the influence of three quarters of a bottle of pretty delicious Goaty Hill, Riesling 2008. It really is a very nice wine, very fruit driven with subtle minerality (yes I aspire to be a wine ponce). I was planning on going for a swim this morning. So ...

TASMÀNIA, EL PAÍS PIN I PON

2 days ago by The Rambler

He estat 16 dies a Tasmània. [...]
